What to Expect on Your First Checkride

Feeling nervous about your checkride? You're not alone. But preparation makes all the difference.

Before the Checkride

Your instructor will help you complete all requirements and fill out your IACRA form. Be sure to review your logbook and endorsements.

Oral Exam:The examiner will ask questions about weather, regulations, airspace, systems, and emergencies. Be honest if you don't know—it's about safety.

Flight Portion You'll demonstrate maneuvers, navigation, emergency procedures, and overall safe decision-making.

After Landing You'll receive feedback, and if successful—congrats! You're now a certified pilot.
